With the launch of Google Play, Google is planning to give a competition to iTunes in terms of market share. The new product “Google Play” is rightly packaged with features like “Movies”, “Music”, “Books” and “Apps and Games”. Google Play will replace Google Music and Android Market into one unified experience across cross-platforms. Interestingly, Google Play also works on iOS.

Youtube PersonalizationAfter Google’s failed attempts in delivering a killer product in social media domain , this time Google has ensured that it has integrating the best practices of social media platforms in its current product offering.  The company has unveiled a new Youtube homepage with key focus on personalization of content. This time the company is rightly adopting the time and tested features of other social media platforms.

The new homepage doesn’t have any radical change in design.  The major change is the introduction of a feature called “combined lists”.  Combined list is a twitter like features which shows live streaming of information.

This ad has the perfect mix of all ingredients in content creation to go viral but still this ad could not turned out to a very successful viral. There could have been two possible reasons for this:

  • It might be due to lack of adequate budget for the ad. Thus the ad could not reach the inflection point from where this ad could have gone viral.
  • It seems the target audience for this ad is north Indians. So the ad could not have enough critical mass to push it viral.
